The Big Day

At 10am tomorrow morning – June 27th – Alice will finally be able to hear through two ears.

It has taken Alice four and a quarter years to get there – ‘there’ being something most of us take for granted – and I do so hope, for Alice who has been so patient, that the wait has been worth it.

We know Alice can’t really ‘hear’ in the conventional sense. To hear her chatter away, to crack jokes and to laugh with us and her brother, what does it matter whether it is ‘hearing’ or not. Semantics.

Welcome to our world, we hope you enjoy it!

Let’s just hope it all goes smoothly at switch-on. Video to follow.

A thought for an average Monday…

I thought this terribly apt. Our new friends from CICS will hopefully understand.

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see”
